One of our most favorite things in the world is food. Taking photos of food would probably rank as #2 or #3. That’s why Taste Of North Texas is totally our jam. This is the 27th year that ~35 restaurants from all over the “little d” metro will fill the Super Pit at UNT and offer up samples of what they’ve got to benefit the Denton Kiwanis Club. This event is a Denton staple, sort of like Frenchy (who happens to be their most orange member). We’re excited to check out newcomers Upper Park out of Aubrey, soon to be opening another location on the square & you will probably find us hanging out with John Williams at the East Side / OSDH table for obvious reasons. Tickets prices are $15 for adults (Ages 18 and older), $10 for ages 7 to 17. Children ages 6 and under get in free. What a week so far, right? And it’s only Wednesday. We have tons of travelling bands coming to our venues this week, so if you’re out and about be sure to check in at one of the places below and thank the musicians (read: buy merch) for coming through Denton! While we (thankfully) only have 12.5 more days of Mercury in Retrograde, we have 10 solid Denton events for you in this weeks edition of the Den10.

Merry Christmas eve eve, y’all! The town seems to have grown a little quieter over the last few days with students going home for the Holiday’s, but we’ve been busy compiling events to keep you out and about and enjoying every moment of beautiful Denton that you possibly can! (I need some wine with that cheese). Join us in relaxing to the sounds of not college kids running through town, stressed out about finals and stuff - the quiet only last a couple weeks, so cherish it while you can!

It’s Veterans Day and dangit, we are proud of our Vets. If you are one of the proud veterans we hear you can share a couple of cool discounts today, such as free DCTA A-Train & Connect bus rides and 15% off of your meal at Pollo Tropical! Wow! Besides celebrating our service people, there is a ton of stuff to do in Denton this week, including more than just music-themed events!

The students are gone, the traffic is lighter, and the square’s lawn remains full of folks spread out on blankets enjoying the last few not-so-hot days of Spring with far fewer cigarette butts. Now that monsoon season is over, you’ve got no excuse to get out there and check out what Denton’s got going on. It’s another week full of events, openings, readings, and fests in Denton this week. It’s getting hard to pick what the top ten events are every week, but we're pretty sure we nailed it. Have you searched #WDDI on Instagram lately? It’s also full of increasingly great shots of what it is y’all are getting into over the weekend and we're almost to 10,000 all time photos. We live charmed lives. Now if only they’d put the street back where it used to be on Hickory. Rumor is that it will be done in February and lets hope that’s the truth. Get out there, hashtag stuff, and be safe while enjoying the increasingly more pleasant weather.
