Twilight Tunes | Denton County Courthouse On The Square | 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
The Denton Main Street Association proudly presents their award-winning FREE concert series in downtown Denton on Thursdays, this week featuring The Almost Brothers! Admission for every event is always FREE, so there is no reason you shouldn’t come out every week with your lawn chair or picnic blanket! Thursdays are also always poppin’ downtown with Glitterbomb at Andy’s, a bicycle social ride at Eastside, live jazz at Steve’s Wine Bar, and gnoshes at Wine2, so plenty of good choices around the Square.
Le Not-So-Hot Klub d'Denton | Barley & Board | 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM
First Thursday brings the swingin’ Parisian sounds of gypsy jazz during Happy Hour. Tres bon! Afterwards, wander down to Oak Street Draft House for FREE COMIC BOOK NIGHT!

Freedman Town 2.0 Reloaded | Fred Moore Park | 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
"Freedman Town 2.0: Reloaded" is an encore presentation showcasing a newly edited compilation of all videos associated with the Freedman Town 2.0 interactive documentary. Enjoy an outdoor film screening under the stars that celebrates the rich history of Denton's black community. Activities begin promptly at 7pm with a digital scavenger hunt in Fred Moore Park and free food for early birds.
MEMPHIS | Campus Theater | 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM
From the underground dance clubs of 1950’s Memphis, Tennessee, comes the Tony and Olivier Award-winning musical that bursts off the stage with explosive dancing, irresistible songs and a thrilling tale of fame and forbidden love. Inspired by actual events, Memphis is about a white radio DJ who wants to change the world and a black club singer who is ready for her big break. You sure as heck better have VOTED in the Denton municipal elections for the City Council positions and the Denton ISD Bond Proposal, or you can do it after your run/walk this 5k for worthy local scholarships and grants.
Cinco de Mayo Celebration | Quakertown Park | 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM
The 10am parade around the Courthouse kicks off the day of vendors, crafts, kids workshops, food, inflatables, music, and a lot of other bueno shenanigans. The beloved Denton Community Market is also back, and pairs nicely with Saturday Jazz Brunch at The Chestnut Tree after some Yoga On The Square. You also won’t regret a stop by Cinco de Milpa FYI.
Free Comic Book Day 2018 | More Fun Comics & Games | 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM|
Denton’s friendly neighborhood comic shop is debuting their latest Denton exclusive variant cover of Doctor Who #0, which is one of the comics you can get totally FREE while supplies last!! Whovians will want to snap a photo with the Tardis in front of the Downtown Courthouse between 1pm and 5pm, so come dressed to impress as your favorite character. On the other side of town at Madness Comics will be four Power Rangers and several cartoon voice actors, so geeks need to pace themselves! The evening caps off with a special FCBD Nerd Nite After Hours event at Bearded Monk!
Movie Night on the Square | Denton Courthouse lawn | 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM
A free movie on the Courthouse lawn is one of the best things in life, made better by watching Jack Black’s film Nacho Libre while eating churros. Or you can stargaze at UNT’s Rafes Astronomy Telescope for just $5 at their monthly star party.

Twelve food trucks assemble for the Denton County Veterans Coalition, with 10% of food truck sales donated to programs that help American military service vets.
