We had a ton of fun with last week’s Thin Line Film Fest, and this weekend will be filled with our town’s beloved Denton Arts & Jazz Festival!! That’d be plenty for most of us, but we just can’t neglect the other fun stuff going on. We can try to help you narrow down the options with our top #DEN10 events to check out as y’all are out and about #DENTONING (and hopefully VOTING dangit) this coming week.
THURSDAY, April 26th
Twilight Tunes | Denton County Courthouse On The Square | 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
The Denton Main Street Association is proud to present their award-winning concert series in downtown Denton, kicking-off their spring season on Thursdays with this week’s music from the Chris Watson Band! Its all FREE but bring a blanket or a chair when you come out every week! Also check out the debut of Hoochie’s back patio!
FRIDAY, April 27th
TWU DanceMakers Conference | Margo Jones Hall | 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
TWU is the proud home of one of the most contemporary arts programs in the country producing progressive dance. The DanceMakers Concert Series explores a variety of original statements from today’s students who are tomorrow’s emerging choreographers.

Can’t help but wonder how this BYOB show will compete with the Arts & Jazz Fest sound systems that they can hear all the way up in Aubrey, but if anyone has a shot then it is this line-up of local rockers!

Local legends Levi Cobb & The Big Smoke ain’t about to let the music stop, and they’ve got help from their friends Puddin’ Taine, Bagbrown, and Skip (No Hombres) to keep the party going.

The 38th Annual weekend party has vendors, art, fashion, inflatables, TONS of music, and a lot of other shenanigans. The beloved Denton Community Market is also back, pairs nicely with Saturday Jazz Brunch at The Chestnut Tree after some Yoga On The Square.
43rd Annual GERMANFEST | Muenster TX | April 27-29
Wilkommen to the three-day festival of music, mouthwatering German sausage, scrumptious apple strudel, hearty cheeses, homemade bread, cakes and pies with more lederhosen than you can count! A short drive to Muenster yields good food, fun, and frolics.
Spiderweb’s Happy Hour Poetry Workshop | Dan’s SilverLeaf | 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Spiderweb Salon's monthly Happy Hour Workshop Series continues with a poetry workshop that will forever change how you approach the written word. Come learn with these two prolific poets, teachers, organizers, and creators -- Caitlin Pryor and Sebastian Paramo -- as they lead a wonderful exploration of words. But if’n you’re into more political wordsmithing, like the upcoming run-off election for Dems in HD-64, then go hear Andrew and Mat spar at NCTC at 4:30pm.
