One of our favorite holiday traditions, the Holiday Lighting Festival, is this weekend. The annual free event features music, food, performances, a toy drive, and various other holiday activities. Happening simultaneously to the Holiday Lighting Festival is Wassail Weekend. Dozens of local shops extend their hours and welcome patrons to sample their wassail, a hot cider-like beverage. Wassail Weekend On Friday evening the Downtown Denton square will be shut down to traffic to make way for wassail-guzzling pedestrians to walk around and enjoy all of the festivities. You'll find us circled 'round the tree like the Whos down in Whoville, holding hands and singing with joy. We're not sure who the Grinch is in this situation, though.

The mysterious 1937 disappearance of Amelia Earhart has puzzled the public for almost 80 years, with numerous theories circulating about the vanished celebrity pilot. I remember when I was a junior in college at UNT, and a friend took me to Greenhouse for jazz and snacks at the bar. The lights were low, and there was still smoking allowed at the bar. The food was great, and the jazz was even better. I remember thinking to myself, "How have I lived here this long and never been here before?" The Greenhouse is a Denton institution and is attempting a new revitalization through a new menu. Read on to find out more about their menu revamp and one of our favorite new sandwiches in town.
