WHAT WE DID: APRIL 25TH

What a lovely, rain-free spring weekend that was. Denton's Redbud Festival seems to be the only festival that seems to be rainproof. We're wondering if the proximity to Arts and Jazz Fest will help to share some water-proofing, but out weather apps are saying otherwise...

This week not only sees storms and Arts & Jazz Fest, but also early voting starts today so go have fun with that. If you're still undecided (or you just enjoy Dan's or local politics), we're hosting a candidate debate tonight at Dan's Silverleaf.

What We Did is our weekly roundup of a few of the best photos that have been tagged with #WDDI in the past week on Instagram.

Below are 20 photos from the past seven days of life in Denton, TX. This week we've got scenes from Friday's Kuzuthon at Harvest House, Keep Denton Beautiful's annual Redbud Festival, Bell and Oak's Gathering Day and much more.

If you'd like to be included in What We Did, tag your images with #WDDI on Instagram, and check back here next Monday. KUZUTHON!

Clear your afternoon and evening plans for Kuzu's first official fundraiser, "Kuzuthon: Pink Moon," an event named after the full moon happening the night of April 22nd, which historically harbors the appearance of pink moss, one of the first spring flowers. You could also say it might say it marks the blossoming of Denton's new LPFM radio station, KUZU 92.9, which is aiming to capture the essence of our local music scene all in one place. While KNTU 88.1, "The One," will always be a local favorite, it focuses largely on representing jazz and classical music without touching on the overwhelming amount of amazing and unique music coming from our small town. Read on to find out more about Kuzu and Kuzuthon!

WHAT WE DID: FEBRUARY 22ND 2016

Welcome to What We Did, our photo round-up that is posted every Monday morning featuring photos from the past week - and what a week it was.

The Denton festival season is well underway now, y'all. Thin Line kicked it off in a big way. We aren't sure about y'all, but we had a great time (and we expect you did, too). In the middle of it, we ate way too much food at Juicy Pig so expect a post on that later on this week.

Below, are a bunch of photos tagged with #WDDI on Instagram (from both y'all and We Denton Do It contributors). Check them out for some instant nostalgia from the past week.

WHAT WE DID: NOVEMBER 2ND

Well, that sure was spooky. Denton, you go all out with costumes. We saw ghosts, ghouls, goblins, Trumps, pumpkins, pumpkin-Trumps, and about a half dozen or so Leslie Knopes out on the streets this weekend. Also, let's take a quick aside to talk about how hard Sundown Blvd. at Ranchman gets down on Halloween. We heard tell of this block of houses that go all out and decided to trek over to South Denton to see what all of the fuss was about and we were not disappointed. Streets covered in fog, men with chainsaws chasing teenagers, and houses decorated to the nines were just a few of the things that make that area a trick-or-treaters paradise. We will definitely hit it up next year. Y'all know of any Denton neighborhoods that have them beat in terms of All Hallow's Eve?

What We Did is our weekly roundup of photos that WDDI staff and readers have taken over the past seven days. We've got 22 of our favorite images from the past week in Denton, TX below. Most of 'em are Halloween-specific (how could they not be?), but you'll find a few non-spooky ones there, too.

If you'd like to be included in What We Did, tag your images with #WDDI on Instagram, and check back here next Monday. As always, we're limited in the photos we can post, but we encourage you to search the hashtag #WDDI and check out all of the other awesome photos that we were unable to include this week. Click the images below to be led back to the photographer's Instagram page. Have a great week!
