After 24 months, the 35 Denton music festival is back this year. There are signs all around - the new mural at Oak St. Draft House, the marquee at Dan's Silverleaf, heck even your Facebook event invites are probably blowing up right now. March in Denton is quite a time. The winter is finally retreating back into it’s cold icy cave, Spring is bursting from the seams and with it comes all the festivals, Spring Breaks and trips to Austin. We’re here to get you started in the right direction and this week our recommendation is to get to the square and see what 35Denton has to offer this year. It’s a scaled down version of what it’s been in the past but it’s still got it’s offerings of local and national talent and in a lot of ways, is what we longed for in festivals past: a chance to find our next favorite band. We want to see all the #WDDI’s we can get also for use in our Monday’s What We Did post. So get your device and hashtags ready.
Questions, comments or event invites can be directed at glen@wedentondoit.com

The 35 Denton cover series is back. In the past, the infamous video series of Dentonites covering national acts playing at the festival has spawned hits such as Jessie Frye's cover of The Mountain Goats' "jkladfjads," Shiny Around the Edges rendition of Built To Spill's "Twin Falls Idaho," and Legsweeper's interpretation of "My Block" by Bun B. Click through to find out what they're starting with this year...

While we do our darndest to keep you guys up to date on what's going on in Denton, we're by no means the end-all-be-all source of definitive information. After all, there's a lot going on in Denton County. Lucky for you, there's a lot of people in the know who just so happen to enjoy writing about things on the internet (most likely currently unemployed UNT communication majors). We know how much you guys like keeping up with what's going on. We thought we'd throw some links to other Denton news sources, blogs, and the like to help you expand your repertoire. We've done our best to include only currently-operational blogs and websites (things that have been updated at least once in 2015) that are updated on a regular basis. There are plenty of other webites such as Verb Denton, Vote Denton, etc... that offer great information that just didn't fall into our requirements for this post. Follow along with any number of these, and you'll increase your local knowledge tenfold. If you have a particular favorite that isn't included, feel free to list it in the comments!
