THURSDAY, June 14th

Twilight Tunes | Denton County Courthouse On The Square | 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM  
The Denton Main Street Association proudly presents their award-winning FREE concert series in downtown Denton on Thursdays, this week featuring UVER! Admission is always FREE, so there is no reason you shouldn’t come out every week with your lawn chair or picnic blanket! Thursdays are also always hoppin’ downtown with Glitterbomb at Andy’s, a bicycle social ride at Eastside, live jazz at Steve’s Wine Bar, trivia at Mulberry St. Cantina, and gnoshes at Wine2, so plenty of good choices around the Square.

GDAC Pop-Up Exhibit | Patterson-Appleton Arts Center | 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM  
Teaming up with Brick Haus Collective, GDAC hosts Dallas-based artist Danielle Georgiou in their Craft Studio this weekend with her never-before-seen environmental video sculpture, Delta. Combining multimedia components with extensive fabric work, Georgiou creates an entrancing experience that captivates body and brain with its mesmerizing use of moving image and corporal interaction. .

FRIDAY, June 15th

Denton Swing Dance | 207 W Hickory | 8:00 PM - 11:59 PM  
Time for another 3rd Friday Swing Dance, just $7 to groove with smooth moves. 8pm is beginner dance classes, then the Social Dance starts jumping at 9pm. Beat it out with the hep cats and beat up the chops with the kittens, Daddy-O.

Calendar Girls | Denton Community Theatre | June 14-17  
A tender and humorous look at friendship and hope as an unlikely group of civic-minded women agree to pose nude for a calendar to raise money for Leukemia research. Complications arise when their efforts are more successful than they dreamed. Get tickets before they’re SOLD OUT!

Gothic Ball | Abbey Underground | 9:00 PM - 2:00 AM  
Calling all Goths and Children of the Night, Industrial Knight is hosting a Goth Ball for all you darkness debutantes. Come dressed to impress, it’ll freak out the squares. 

SATURDAY, June 16th

Denton Community Market Harvest Day | Denton County Historic Park | 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM  
The beloved Denton Community Market is the best way to ring in Saturdays, and this weekend you can find all kinds of nifty crafty swag, produce, veggies, and live music! Browsing always pairs nicely with Saturday Jazz Brunch at The Chestnut Tree after some Yoga On The Square.

Denton Juneteenth | Fred Moore Park | 5:00 PM - 2:00 AM
The City of Denton will be reveling during the 48th Annual Juneteenth Celebration this year by showcasing a broad spectrum of African American heritage, music, a softball tournament, basketball tournaments, their annual barbecue-cook-off, and games for the entire family! Friday is Gospel Night, Saturday at 12noon is their downtown parade around the Courthouse Square leading to their Hometown Heroes reception at 2pm. Join Spiderweb Salon & their creative cabal of friends for an out-of-this-world celebration of the absurd, the weird, and the nerdy with this first SpiderCon! Prepare yourselves for readings (sci-fi, fantasy, and everything strange), music, drama, poetry, comedy, comics ‘zines, fanfic, burlesque, and lots MORE!! Special guests, a Cosplay Contest, photo booths, and an impromptu parade around the Square are included in this eclectic evening!

Father’s Day this year needs a lil’ something special, and LSA has ya covered.
