WHAT WE DID: SPECIAL OAKTOPIA 2015 EDITION

And here's our second What We Did post of the day. This one is complete with tons of images from this weekend's Oaktopia festival. This was the third year of Oaktopia and we're crossing our fingers to hear about a fourth one soon. Anyway, we had a blast hitting up venues on the square and down Hickory St. and loved seeing both the local and national acts.

Below are tons of photos from both WDDI photogs and you, the WDDI readers and Instagram taggers. Check them out below and let us know your favorite act in the comments!

WHAT WE DID: SEPTEMBER 28TH

Who else is sore and droopy-eyed this Monday morning? We sure as heck are, but it was well worth it. Oaktopia put on quite the show this weekend and between Oaktopia, the food truck festival, dog days of Denton, and all of the normal Denton festivities, there was a lot of stuff going on and y'all seemed to take photos of all of it. We had almost 1,000 images tagged with #WDDI over the past week that we combed through for today's post. Whenever we have that many photos from a certain event, we like to break What We Did into two posts. So here's your first WWD of the day, featuring everyday awesomeness and remember to check back later today for an Oaktopia-focused edition.

What We Did is our weekly roundup of photos that WDDI staff and readers have taken over the past seven days. We've got 21 of our favorite images from the past week in Denton, TX below. And what a week it was. Check out photos from these events and more in the posts below.

If you'd like to be included in What We Did, tag your images with #WDDI on Instagram, and check back here next Monday. As always, we're limited in the photos we can post, but we encourage you to search the hashtag #WDDI and check out all of the other awesome photos that we were unable to include this week. Click the images below to be led back to the photographer's Instagram page. Have a great week!

WHAT WE DID: SEPTEMBER 21ST 2015

We remember the days when this column used to be filled with photos of tacos and lattes. While we're happy that our photographic lineup has grown up, we can't say that we aren't sad at the lack of taco goodness in the #WDDI feed lately. What happened Denton? Have you fallen out of taco love? Are tacos no longer "cool?" Do the most recent VSCO filters not look that great when hoisted upon a fresh-made corn tortilla? Whatever the case, we better move on. We're getting too hungry.

What We Did is our weekly roundup of photos that WDDI staff and readers have taken over the past seven days. We've got 21 of our favorite images from the past week in Denton, TX below. And what a week it was. We saw Harvest House get to capacity for that famous-fella-who-wears-that-cool-hat's magazine party. The city started prepping hard for Oaktopia round 3. Oh, and North Texas Giving Day was another resounding success.

THE DEN10: SEPTEMBER 16th

No one told us the GOP debate was going to last 3 hours so this is coming in a little late and with a little commentary. The good news is we live in Denton, a city where it’s very easy to find a cause or initiative to get behind and effect real change in our community. Today is North Texas Giving Day and some of us will be out on the square raising money for at-risk children, the homeless, the hungry, and many other sources of need that are right in our community. Imagine if the same amount of energy spent in the next few hours in Denton on social media things such as the debate went into trying to solve the issue of students showing up to Denton ISD schools hungry because they aren’t fed at home.

WHAT WE DID: SEPTEMBER 14TH 2015

So that recent Instagram update has really tinkered around with the looks of What We Did. We love the new non-square images and the higher resolution makes us even happier. So, keep up the good work, y'all!

What We Did is our weekly roundup of photos that WDDI staff and readers have taken over the past seven days. We've got 21 of our favorite images from the past week in Denton, TX below. In this group, we've got plenty of scenes from Saturday's car show on the square, Gathering Day at Weldon's, and much more. It was a busy week, to say the least. The sub 95 temps had Dentonites outdoors in droves and we were all less sweaty and smelly than we have been for the past three months.
