At this point we're assuming you're super excited about Oaktopia already. We certainly are! This year is a promising weekend of day panels and evening lineups that are incredibly well-curated and we encourage you to buy some tickets and go see all of it. These guys have got it going on, they’ve hit their stride in their third year and we expect bigger and better things from them for years to come. This will be huge. Mark our words. Go to this and go early. Dozens of trucks and options for what to eat. Tell them to come back on regular weekend nights, too.

Oaktopia 2015 Kick-Off: Double Feature Movie | Travelstead Stage | 7PM
You know that lot between the elks lodge and Stockard’s building on Oak St.? Well that’s the Travelstead Stage and that’s where they’re showing a movie featuring some Dentonites this Friday to kickoff Oaktopia because people love movies!

This three day festival held downtown and around Oak street is really something you can’t miss. Catch performances by Minus The Bear, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Sarah Jaffe and a ton more plus day panels where learned folks talk about the things they know and hypothesize about things they don't.

Dog Day’s Of Denton 2015 | North Texas Fairgrounds | 9AM
The most fascinating part of this event is the selection of Denton’s own “spokes-dog” for the year. Seriously, this happens people. People love dogs!
