SEEN & HEARD: SEPTEMBER 2015

School has started but, friends, the heat of summer lingers on. September is a tricky month, and we spend the whole thirty days trying to decide if the air is cool enough to warrant all the outdoor time we’re desperately longing for. Let’s be bold and take our picnic baskets to the square (or Harvest House)! Towards the end of the month, we hope that cooler temperatures will ease their way back in and the city will erupt with autumnal glee. On a side note, we're switching Seen & Heard from a weekly format to a monthly one so you can now plan out your family-friendly activities a month in advance!

WHAT WE DID: AUGUST 31ST 20151

T-minus one day until September, y'all. We're excited. Mostly because we're throwing a little end-of-summer shindig at the Civic Center Pool on Friday evening. We've got folks like Kevin Roden and Jamie Wilson cannonballing for a cause - the Denton Parks Foundation. We hope you head over to hang out with us and make a $5 donation. We're promising good times in advance.

What We Did is our weekly roundup of photos that WDDI staff and readers have taken over the past seven days. We've got nineteen of our favorite images from the past week in Denton, TX below. In this group, we've got plenty of scenes from the North Texas State Fair, new food, live music, and scenes from newer local oddities (because we love local oddities) .

If you'd like to be included in What We Did, tag your images with #WDDI on Instagram, and check back here next Monday. As always, we're limited in the photos we can post, but we encourage you to search the hashtag #WDDI and check out all of the other awesome photos that we were unable to include this week. Click the images below to be led back to the photographer's Instagram page. Have a great week!

THE DEN10: AUGUST 26th

Hey new kids! Hope you're enjoying UNT and TWU so far. Have you found your coffee shop yet? If you're living on campus, we hope you've already gone ahead and taken some time to drive around Denton to explore. This here post you're reading right now is what we call the Den10. It is our weekly events listing of ten events happening in Denton that we think are worth your time. Sometimes they're festivals, oftentimes we feature live music, but whatever they may be, they will most likely be worth checking out.

Comments, questions, and stock tips should be directed at glen@wedentondoit.com
