WHAT WE DID: JANUARY 12TH 2015

Every Monday, we like to run a few of our favorite images that have been tagged with #WDDI on Instagram in the past seven days. We call it What We Did. It normally gives us a fairly good idea of what Dentonites of all different backgrounds have been up to. This week was a good one.

Keep in mind that we're limited here, folks. While we love the photos we've selected to highlight, y'all should definitely take the time to search #WDDI on Instagram. You'll find so many great photos that we jsut didnt' have the space to showcase.

Anyway, back to the pics. Click the photos, themselves, to be led back to the photographer's Instagram account and follow 'em. Tag your Denton images this week with #WDDI and come back here next Monday to see another collection. Have a great week, everybody!

WHAT WE DID: MAY 5TH, 2014

The weekend was jam packed with sunshine, fun, and plenty tacos. (In fact, we're continuing that taco consortium today. It is Cinco de Mayo, after all.) Between the Cinco De Mayo parade, Free Comic Book Day, the DIME Store Sidewalk Sale, the Mudbug Boil, and general good vibes and good times we are pooped. What We Did does it's best to capture what it's like to live in Denton for a week. At least, that was the idea we had when we started it last summer. We think it does a pretty danged good job of representing Denton from all of the different perspectives that live inside.

Thanks for keeping us in your loop, y'all. Tag your pics and 'grams with #WDDI and share with us what you're up to! Have a great week, everybody!

Saturday afternoon, a bunch of folk convened and ate some crustaceans that kinda looked like bugs. Did the suck the head? Some may have. Either way. It was tasty.

WHAT WE DID: JANUARY 21st

The weekend weather couldn't have been more perfect. And we took advantage of every moment since we heard that the dreaded cold may be working its way back into town. It seems like y'all did too. Movie nights at Oak Street, waffles from the waffle wagon and rides on mopeds seemed to be abounding. Hope you enjoyed your three day weekend as much as we did. Keep your eyes peeled for the Den10 tomorrow and a list of events to partake in this weekend - we wouldn't want you to get bored or anything.

Don't forget to tag your pics with #wddi throughout the week to be included next Monday!

WHAT WE DID: SEPTEMBER 23rd

Y'all have been busy. Hard not to be with that first discernible drop in temperature in the fall. The town seemed to be jam-packed with people listening to blues chord progressions over at Quakertown Park or taking in some food and drink on the square this weekend. Take a look below to see what Denton was up to this weekend.

Make sure to tag your photos with #WDDI over the next week, and, as always, thanks for sharing your photos with us.

We took the North Lakes Park frisbee golf course for a whirl for the first time in a while. While it may need a few repairs (or a good mow), it's still plenty of fun.

WHAT WE DID: SEPTEMBER 16TH

It seems like a month has passed from last week's What We Did until today. In that period of time, we celebrated some Denton failure, heard lots of opinions on Walnut St., looked at a bunch of old cars and took the a-train on a trip to Dallas. What were you out doing this past weekend? Make sure to throw #WDDI on your photos from week to week to be included in our What We Did post.

We went out to Viet Bites again and ate our heart's out for a forthcoming review.

THE DEN10: JULY 24

Last night, Denton saw it's first Spelling Bee for adults-only at Dan's Silverleaf. Born from the mind of Scott Porter, the inaugural Buzz Bee was the sort of quirky, no expectations idea that makes our town tick. It was thrown together last second with the sort of wheels off, can-do attitude that we've come to expect from our community. While the endgame needed work, there was no short of all the thrills and agony associated with a unprofessionally run Spelling Bee. Remembering the hilarity that ensued on stage - we charge ahead into another week of Denton-centric local fun. We're never really sure what to expect - but we know that its bound to be memorable at the very least.

THE DEN10: JULY 17th

Last Sunday the Denton Holiday Lighting Festival Board and a crowd of supporters headed to Dan's to celebrate Christmas In July. The event was to kick off their fundraiser for the 25th Anniversary CD. It was a successful night, with some of our town's finest musicians getting on stage to support this non-profit entity that brings us one of the greatest events this town has to offer. Even the weather cooperated as it was rainy and in the 70's; a typical Christmas Day in Denton. "Well I guess summer's over!" was the joke of the night but the reality is the school year is right around the corner. I'll spare you the date, but time is running out to spend your days at the beach, make those Community Market trips and take the day to ride the A-train to the free DMA. Looking for something to do still? This week we've got Denton's first drunken Spelling Bee, beer tastings and more. Also, be on the look out for a major announcement this week. We're excited and you should be too.
