Welcome to What We Did, our photo round-up that is posted every Monday morning featuring photos from the past week.
Over the weekend we said goodbye to Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studios, a beloved venue and Denton institution for near two decades. They held a series of packed "Farewell" shows over the past week that saw Denton bands of yesteryear such as Record Hop and Lift to Experience reuniting to take the stage at Gloves one last time.
This week is packed with photos from Rubber Gloves' last week and other images from the past seven days.

The weekend is here, you're ready for a few tacos and a margarita, and at least one of your friends is currently ranting about the demise of the Denton music scene, the death of Rubber Gloves, and the illuminati's money taking over our town. Escape that argument with a one night trip to some random dude's sweaty living room, where you and all your friends can get ready to rock those work week realities away. The Syndicate is hosting a free show at The Purple Palace, located at 521 Malone St, Denton, Tx, 76201, and featuring music from Donella Drive, Dome Dwellers, Children of Indigo, Class Action and Biscuit Head. Get this line up a snuggie and some flu medicine because it is sick!

Denton has a great rap scene that often goes unnoticed and under-appreciated by the majority of show-goers. You probably already know some of the larger hip-hop artists in town, like AV the Great, Ritchy Flo, Wild Bill, Stu Brootal or Elijah Heaps. A few of them might be referred to as OG's of the Lil d rap scene, but there's another younger group of kids creating drug-addled beats with nerd-centric, indie rap lyrics who deserve to get some attention. So, this month we're talking about a few of these artists, specifically J3's Journal, Lil Durt and Xanni.

In previous years, we've looked at some of Denton's best and worst restrooms. As frequent urinators, we thought ourselves fairly adept to judge such a thing. It's been about a year and a half since then, and things have really changed in the Denton-potty scene. Some new restrooms have come into play and made themselves contenders right off the bat. Some of the worst restrooms of the past have jumped off the bench and proved themselves contenders once more. This year, we decided we'd focus on a few of the nicest new restrooms in Denton. Read on to find out what we think are restrooms worth of your peeing. Heck, maybe we'll even make a trophy and hand it out. Let's totally talk toilets...

As you find your self staring down the barrel of another Valentines Day, consider these events for your weekend plans. All of them have been painstakingly hand-picked for quality and diversity. The most important event this coming week is the 64th House District Republican Primary Debate we’re hosting at Dan’s Silverleaf on Monday at 7PM. City councilman Kevin Roden will moderate and Glen Farris will keep time. This is a pretty unique event as it is possibly the only debate for the state level position that is open to the public (with access to beer, no less). The event will be live-streamed and we encourage you to come out and check out the candidates, one of which will most likely take the HD64 seat. Take your photos and get in the know, y'all.
Questions, comments, and additions can be sent to glen@wedentondoit.com.
