Skimmed is our monthly look at current cultural, business and political information in Denton that you probably want to know about. It is designed to be read in under five minutes and we even bolded the important stuff so you can skim it! We wrote about half of a Looking Back at 2016 in Denton post and then deleted it. We can really only write about how much we like Boca 31 and Komodo Loco and dislike construction on University so much before we start to repeat ourselves. Instead, we decided to look forward into the future. What does the near future (nay present) have in store for Denton? We have a few things in mind. Some are a little more realistic than others, but anything can happen, right? Take a look through our predictions for 2017 in the post below and add your own predictions in the comments!

We remember the days when this column used to be filled with photos of tacos and lattes. While we're happy that our photographic lineup has grown up, we can't say that we aren't sad at the lack of taco goodness in the #WDDI feed lately. What happened Denton? Have you fallen out of taco love? Are tacos no longer "cool?" Do the most recent VSCO filters not look that great when hoisted upon a fresh-made corn tortilla? Whatever the case, we better move on. We're getting too hungry.
What We Did is our weekly roundup of photos that WDDI staff and readers have taken over the past seven days. We've got 21 of our favorite images from the past week in Denton, TX below. And what a week it was. We saw Harvest House get to capacity for that famous-fella-who-wears-that-cool-hat's magazine party. The city started prepping hard for Oaktopia round 3. Oh, and North Texas Giving Day was another resounding success. Check out photos from these events and more in the posts below.
If you'd like to be included in What We Did, tag your images with #WDDI on Instagram, and check back here next Monday. As always, we're limited in the photos we can post, but we encourage you to search the hashtag #WDDI and check out all of the other awesome photos that we were unable to include this week. Click the images below to be led back to the photographer's Instagram page. Have a great week!

Thin Line kicked off the 2015 festival season with a bang. The Dallas Morning News called it, "the best North Texas festival you've probably never heard of," and Jason Lee apparently wants to move here because we're all so awesome. It's been a good couple of days with something for everyone. There were rap shows at Hailey's, great music at Dan's Silverleaf, photo galleries all around town, and tons of documentaries and short films with many of the actual filmmakers present. Below, are a bunch of photos tagged with #WDDI on Instagram (from both y'all and We Denton Do It contributors). Check them out for some instant nostalgia from the weekend.
