THE DEN10: JUNE 15TH 2017

Here comes the heat, Dentonites, and also Summer road trips or maybe local staycations for us working stiffs. Glen is trippin’ to France, so I’m channeling my seething jealousy into these DEN10 events that’ll keep our entertainment dance-card full of cool stuff and hot acts. You can also revisit our top picks for “Denton Summertime Fun” or “Kid Camps” and maybe these “Denton Podcasts” to help pass time in your cubicle or during that dang long drive.

Holla in the comments if you have a fave to add, and be sure to tag your pretty pics with #WDDI so maybe you make the cut on Monday’s What We Did photo review.

WHAT WE DID: MARCH 20TH 2017

Break is over and today is actually Spring Equinox. It is officially springtime in Denton, y'all if the high eighties temperatures didn't already inform ya. Time for the season of Arts and Jazz, scary storms, gardening, and being annoyed at your neighbor mowing at 7am on a Saturday. In the pros column, though, it is also time for those colorful springtime photos.

What We Did is our weekly "slice of life" photo post featuring images that have been tagged #WDDI in the past week on Instagram.

Below are 18 photos showcasing what life  has been like recently in Denton, TX. This week we see scenes from St. Patrick's Day celebrations, some spring time blooms, a Bearded Monk tattoo, and probably the best dog pic you'll see all week.

If you'd like to be included in What We Did, tag your Denton images with #WDDI on Instagram. Search the hashtag #WDDI and follow @WeDentonDoIt on Instagram to see even more great photos of Denton life.

You can click the images below to be led back to the photographer's Instagram page where you can follow them and ignore it when they "go live" on Instagram.

125 MILES WORTH OF ART

There is so much great art happening in Denton now, especially at the Greater Denton Arts Council. You should stop in to the Gough Gallery for VAST’s (Visual Arts Society of Texas) 11th Annual 125-mile Visual Arts Exhibition. The exhibit features art of all mediums submitted by artists that live within a 125 mile radius of Denton. While at the exhibit, be sure to check out the Composite of the Soul exhibition that we talked about last week! WHAT WE DID: SEPTEMBER 19TH 2016

What We Did is our weekly look into the visual captures that people have taken and documented on Instagram along with the hashtag #WDDI. Every week, we comb through hundreds of images to try and find a few that are not only fun photos, but also provide a great look at what the City of Denton was like during that week. This week is no different.

Oh wait, this week is a little different in that we have a couple contest winners to announce...

Last week, we announced on social media that we were giving away a few tickets to this week's Oaktopia Festival. We had tons of entries. Below are the winners.

@_kendrarenae and @ronjeesus. Congrats! You have both won passes to this year's Oaktopia festival. We will be in contact with you for more information.

If you didn't win, fret not. Oaktopia still has tickets available. You can grab yours here. We'll have plenty more on Oaktopia this week. Until then, check out the 19 great images below from the past seven days of life in Denton, TX.
