Who knew, a beautiful, stunning and (almost) 360 degree view of our beloved town has been collecting cobwebs on the 8th top floor of the historical Wells Fargo building on the corner of Hickory St and Locust? As of the last month, the top floor has been contracted to be transformed into a restaurant dubbed Sunago Bell which should open by next summer. You may soon find yourself dining on Mediterranean-influenced cuisine and admiring Denton’s landmarks such as the courthouse and TWU towers, from on high. Read on for more details on this brand new spot!
Read MoreNOW OPEN: BUMBERSHOOT BARBECUE
On any given day you can Google "BBQ in Texas" and more than 32 million results will pop up in your browser. We're barbecue people in Texas (some of us are barbeque people instead). In Denton though, we’ve got a handful of great places smoking meat with the best of 'em. In town we have a few favorites, but just on the outskirts of town, we have a new place to stop when we make the long drive between Southlake’s Trader Joe’s and home. Bumbershoot Barbecue is set up and ready to go, tucked behind Earl’s 377 and Kimzey’s Coffee at 407 and 377. Read on to see some photos and hear about our experience there earlier this week.
Read MoreBRUNCH: AGUA DULCE
Sweet Water recently underwent a change in identity and became the newest Tex-Mex joint near the square, Agua Dulce. With a brightly painted patio and floral oil table clothes, the spot is still a great corner to grab a margarita and break some bread (or chips) with friends. We stopped by for brunch recently and we've decided that we just can't keep the brunch burrito a secret any longer. Read on to find out our favorite brunch cocktails and more!

A little over a year ago Mariah Laughlin started baking up pies to pair with craft brews at Bearded Monk. Not too long after that she picked up steam on her pie-filled instagram account and her pie landed a magazine cover. While her crust skills are crazy good - she is really into connecting with people over pie. Read on to find out why you should head out to Nerd Nite next week to hear all about her life of pie.
Read More10 REASONS TO LOVE DRUG EMPORIUM
As we often bemoan the absence of a Trader Joe’s and a Central Market or HEB - let’s be real - Denton is chock full of grocery stores. We’ve got 3 Krogers (the hellish one on University, the giant one on 288, and the fancy one on Teasley), an Albertsons, 3 Walmarts (the old one on 288, the new one holding down Rayzor Ranch, and the cute little neighborhood one on Teasley), a Super Target, a WinCo, Natural Grocers, the Cupboard, Aldi, Sprouts, La Azteca and La Michoacana. That doesn’t even count Sam’s Club, which is the best place to buy your giant jar of pickles. But there is one grocer that often flies under the radar, and isn’t often mentioned - Drug Emporium. Read on to find out why Drug Emporium is actually one of our favorite places to shop, and what you should keep your eyes peeled for.
Read MoreTHE UNDERAPPRECIATED VALUES OF THE BEAN BURRITO
The bean burrito is cheap. You can buy one for $0.99 at Taco Bell. At $1.39, it’s literally the cheapest thing on the menu at Rosa’s – the next closest is a cup of coffee which is a full $0.20 more. You can get one at Fuzzy’s for $3.99, which sounds expensive except that theirs is truly a burrito-sized item and is about half the price of the other, snootier burritos. (Note: The bean burrito has been removed from the Fuzzy’s menu. I believe this is what’s called “gentrification.”)

THE 15 BEST DISHES IN DENTON
Denton's food scene has grown exponentially in the past decade. People drive from all over to come check out some of the newer (and older) restaurants that our town at the top of the triangle has to offer. We figured with all of the recent restaurant shuffling, we would highlight the fifteen dishes that we believe you should eat during your time in Denton. We've purposefully left out desserts (and drinks) because we will take a look at those in future posts, but believe us when we say we had plenty to choose from and nailing this down to fifteen was not so easy.
