Glen is in California for "work" and is apparently "too busy having fun" to care about the rest of us back here in Denton and the events that we should be checking out. Did you know that Glen has a bidet in his home? I wonder if he misses it while he's away on the west coast. Anyway, we've got plenty of events for ya this week. Ten of 'em, in fact. There are a few art-y events, some live music, and plenty of opportunities for you to be well-prepared for Valentine's Day next Tuesday. Heck, you can even stop by Backyard on Bell for some pre-Valentine's slow dancing this weekend.
Read on to find out our ten favorite events happening in Denton, TX over the next seven days.

What a difference a week makes. Take some deep breaths and manage your self-care. Get off social media and put your emotional energy into things that matter, because you know what? There is a whole world out there that's going to happen with or without you and the future of our city rests in the hands of those who will build it. Take pics and throw a #WDDI on the good ones and we might just feature you in our Monday's post, What We Did.

We wrote about half of a Looking Back at 2016 in Denton post and then deleted it. We can really only write about how much we like Boca 31 and Komodo Loco and dislike construction on University so much before we start to repeat ourselves. Instead, we decided to look forward into the future. What does the near future (nay present) have in store for Denton? We have a few things in mind. Some are a little more realistic than others, but anything can happen, right? Take a look through our predictions for 2017 in the post below and add your own predictions in the comments!

What a week. Supermoons, beaver moons and the kids are getting restless in the face of Thanksgiving break. We all need that break. To return home and ground ourselves in our people and accidentally eat our weight in pie. This week we’ve got a great lineup ranging from Star Wars to a very serious conversation about domestic violence in our community at North Branch Library. As always, show us your greatest hits and misses by hash tagging #WDDI and if you cut the muffin, you might just be featured in our post on Monday.

Garrett Dennington has been obsessed with craft beer and intrigued by the harder-to-find beers for years. Now his team travels the US visiting breweries and drinking those hard to find beers.
"We love craft beer and decided to take an annual road trip to discover new and exciting craft breweries." What he learned along the way was so much more. He met brewers in tight knit communities, folks at the bar who love their beer and so much about the local culture and lifestyle in each city he visited.

Oaktopia took over downtown Denton for its junior year of programming, offering interactive art installations, a mini-skate park set up, outdoor movies, and oh yeah - live music. Once known for being a predominantly hip-hop driven festival, this year they took a heavy indie turn at Isreal Nash and went full speed toward Edward Sharpe and his Magnetic Zeros. We aren’t complaining, though. We like Sarah Jaffe, too.
