The only two rules of Texas weather, near as I can tell, is never cuss rain and if you don’t like the weather then just wait ‘til tomorrow. The final rainy week of Women’s History Month has been great for my garden, but we’re supposed to have a weekend in the 70s and that means getting’ out and about! Here is a look at our top #DEN10 shenanigans to check out as y’all are out and about #DENTONING this coming April Fools / Easter weekend.

Denton’s comedy scene is red hot, so go check out the yucksfest showcase of seven talents to see for yourself what the buzz is about after the Denton Firefighters City Council Candidate forum.
THURSDAY, March 29th
Taste of North Texas | Golden Triangle Mall | 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Denton Noon Kiwanis hosts its much-anticipated annual fundraiser, a tasty soirée where you can sample food and drinks from more than 35 local restaurants for just $15! Read more of our thoughts in last week’s teaser on why you should definitely attend. Thursdays are also always poppin’ downtown with Glitterbomb at Andy’s, a bicycle social ride at Eastside, Salsa dancing at Mulberry St. Cantina, or live jazz at Steve’s Wine Bar, so plenty of good choices around the Square.
Denton Art Forum | Patterson-Appleton Arts Center | 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Check out local artists and hear about upcoming projects in this exhibition from the GDAC, and co-hosted with The Denton Gallery and Artists Enclave. Afterwards, go listen to Levi Cobb and the Boxcar Bandits at Dan’s.

We love us some Saturday Jazz Brunch at The Chestnut Tree after some Yoga On The Square, but be sure to pop in for this exhibit from Historic Denton Inc. and UNT Special Collections. Photos and artifacts tell the story of the people and places of the University of North Texas State Normal College during its formative years on Normal, Bryan and Fry Streets. The GDAC also has its Materials Hard & Soft exhibit.

Hickoids and Slobberbone | Dan’s SilverLeaf | 9:00 PM - 2:00 AM
The Hicksoids played their first show opening for Black Flag and the Meat Puppets in March 1984, but these Austin legends have chewed-up a lot of road and albums since then. Hear them along with our own Denton darling SLOBBERBONE for what promises to be an incredible night of music.

Adult Easter Egg Bike Hunt | Oak Street Draft House | 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
In its 4th year, this bike ride egg hunt is a race to find hidden Easter Eggs filled with cash, coupons, Golden Tickets, gift cards, and other assorted swag! But its also April Fools Day so expect shenanigans.
