Once again, Thin Line’s strategic planning and hopeful execution made waves across Downtown Denton this weekend for Thin Line X. The free festival featured documentary films, live music, and photography and somehow managed to do a great job with all three. We had a wonderful time at the festival this year. Here’s a quick recap on what we managed to catch this weekend and why Thin Line X was one of the best festival experiences we have ever had.

UNT's Fine Art Series has brought Luminarium: Architects of Air to Denton for this week. The world-renowned, traveling art exhibit features groups of inflatable structures open for exploration and viewing. Even better, the event is free for the general public. From the outside, the exhibit looks like a group of gigantic, real-life Mario Kart weapons, but once you enter the sculpture, you are greeted with a maze of cave-like colorful rooms to walk through and explore. Today’s featured artist is lifelong Dentonite, Eric Mancini. You may recognize his trademark XO’s and urban graffiti-tag like style from your walks about town. Thin Line is the annual Denton festival that features documentary films, live music, and photography. Heck, it is the only festival in Texas to offer all of those things in one neat package. This year marks the event's tenth anniversary and with it come a few changes. For one, this year's festival will take place over five days during the month of April (April 19th - 23rd, to be exact). The music lineup for this year's festival has already been announced and looks to be amazing. 2017 is sure to be the biggest for the festival yet, oh and did we mention that it is free? Yup, all you have to do is register. One thing that has us particularly excited is the recent news that the photography component of Thin Line is expanding in 2017.
