Great Scott! It's finally October, y'all. It's sure as heck time again for another movie night on the courthouse lawn. Last time, we all hunkered down and watched Johnny Depp cut hair, trim hedges, and get a lap dance from a neighbor in the Tim Burton classic, Edward Scissorhands. This time out, we're hitching our wagon to Robert Zemeckis' Delorean with Back to the Future II. Get it down in your calendar ASAP. Wednesday, October 21st, we will be on the courthouse lawn - picnic regalia in tow - ready to get our movie on.

You're either reading this in the middle of class, at home exhausted after your first day back, or at your job being a real life human being. Either way, we hope your day is a good one. It's officially Back to School Week at We Denton Do It again and we've got some fun stuff planned (including some more secrets).
What We Did is our weekly roundup of photos that WDDI staff and readers have taken over the past seven days. We've got nineteen of our favorite images from the past week in Denton, TX below. In this group, we've got plenty of scenes from the North Texas State Fair along with plenty of other views of different events in town.
If you'd like to be included in What We Did, tag your images with #WDDI on Instagram, and check back here next Monday. As always, we're limited in the photos we can post, but we encourage you to search the hashtag #WDDI and check out all of the other awesome photos that we were unable to include this week. Denton has been food truck friendly for a few years now. Heck, we even have a food truck park now. There are a dozen or so trucks that either are based out of Denton, or make it a point to stop by on a weekly basis. While we don't always get to see every single truck we'd like to, and we haven't seen a night as packed as that food truck festival at the DCTA station a few years ago, we still love having the option around. Tonight, however, there are fourteen trucks visiting various parts of Oak and Austin St. and we're pretty pumped about it. Read on to find out what we're looking forward to eating this evening. Warning, we're going to be eating a lot so get ready now (maybe skip lunch).

There’s not a severe winter storm warning powerful enough to ice our hearts after seeing yesterday’s Dr. Who and TARDIS on the Square comic book cover. It’s on sale March 18th at More Fun Comics & Games so until then, you’ve got a real responsibility to survive winter weather smack-down round three that’s about to hit our quaint village. We recommend indoor activities that include libations, hot soups and a Friends / Netflix marathon in between the top ten events we’re listing here.
Questions comments and soup recipes may be directed towards glen@wedentondoit.com.
