Summer is rearing its warm, beautiful head and if you've got kids in school that means you may be stressing right now. Denton offers a great many of free activities for families including the Denton Blues Fest, The Holiday Lighting Festival, and The Big Denton Playdate. In addition to all the other awesome services that they provide, twice a year the Denton Libraries host a big play date featuring Denton ISD, the Denton Public Library, and UNT for hands-on games that encourage early literacy.

Oh November, let me count the ways I love thee. 1. The chill mornings are here to stay, and I don’t feel so ridiculous tromping around town in boots and swathed in scarves. 2. I am inspired to finally write that novel, thanks to NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). 3. I can soak in the beacon of Friday Night Lights at any of the area schools or from the comfort of my own Netflix. 4. I can practice thankfulness as I eat ALL the pie, nap off a turkey coma, and still buy the best Christmas presents during Small Business Saturday.
