The Denton openings/closings are just too much to keep up with. We use Evernote to keep track of all sorts of stuff that has happened in town and then load up our notes when it is time to write. And even then - in the short span of just a month - when we re-read our notes, we're kinda like, "Oh yeah. That happened." Dirt moves quick in Denton County, y'all. Read on for the local wheelings and dealings in this month's Denton Business Update.

SECRETS OF DENTON COUNTY V: SECRETS STRIKE BACK
It’s that time of year again, y’all. The school doors are fresh with WD-40 and the cars are accidentally turning north onto Elm St. again. School is back in session and with it, a new crop of Dentonites have flooded our city limits. Will these fresh, young faces become lifelong Dentonites or only commute here, never even taking a step onto our town square? Only time will tell, but we’ve decided to do our part to get them to become a part of the former group, by providing them with some insider knowledge on some cool stuff Denton has to offer that would normally take awhile to figure out. It’s time for Secrets of Denton County V: Secrets Strike back...

Its been a lazy summer in Denton and it hasn't been any different at We Denton Do It. Glen had to take a Rip Van Winkle-esque nap from Tuesday to Friday after the craziness that was last Monday so the Den10 took a break. Looks like y'all still found plenty of stuff to do, though!
What We Did is our weekly roundup of photos that WDDI staff and readers have taken over the past seven days. We've got nineteen of our favorite images from the week below.
If you'd like to be included in What We Did, tag your images with #WDDI on Instagram, and check back here next Monday. Read MoreNOW OPEN: HICKORY AND FRY
Hickory and Fry serves kangaroo nachos, y'all. And they aren't just some sort of gimmick. These are legitimate, tasty as hell fried wontons with kangaroo and habañero jam on top. We, having never tasted kangaroo before (the closest we came was watching Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome), had our minds blown upon taking a bite of these. The meat is extremely tender - almost creamy and the homemade habañero jam cuts right through it to create one of our new favorite dishes in Denton. And that's just one thing Hickory and Fry has to offer.
