The fall jackets are out but happenings are still hot in the Lil’ D!! It’s also time to start thinking about holiday shopping as the downtown MSA Holiday Open House showcases shopping local! This week in #DENTONING adventures also features plenty of other fun, so here is our top #DEN10 weekly events!


THURSDAY, November 8th

Levi Cobb & The Birthday Smoke | Harvest House | 8:00 PM – 12:01 AM    
Jesse turns 29 and Levi Cobb & TBS teams up with AM Ramblers for this twangy toe-tapping HBD show! Also check out The Bearded Monk’s events for NTX Beer Week 2018 or The Dark Side of OZ at Dan’s!

FRIDAY, November 9th

Little Shop of Horrors | Campus Theater | 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM + matinees   
A love story rooted in world domination, this musical-comedy sci-fi hybrid of a show is about a timid floral shop assistant, Seymour, who discovers a sinister new plant from outer space that he names Audrey II, in honor of his sweet co-worker who has terrible taste in boyfriends. While the addition of this “strange and unusual” plant brings desperately needed business into the struggling shop, the cost of keeping it thriving is pretty steep, indeed!  Book by Howard Ashman; Music by Alan Menken; Lyrics by Howard Ashman; Based on the film by Roger Corman, screenplay by Charles Griffith. Directed by Travis Barth and Sean Frith.

Sample savory craft brews and hear about upcoming events, then get serenaded on the LSA Burgers rooftop patio with one’a the prettiest views in town. 

SATURDAY, November 10th

Denton Community Market | Denton County Historic Park | 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM  
The beloved Denton Community Market is the best way to ring in Saturdays, with all kinds of nifty crafty swag, produce, veggies, food, tours of the Bayless-Selby House, and live music! Browsing always pairs nicely with Saturday Jazz Brunch at The Chestnut Tree after some Yoga On The Square.

Pistons & Paint 2018| NTX Fairgrounds | 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM  
Saturday rumbles with pre-’72 classic cars, hot rods, and custom rides with plenty of live music! Saturday afternoon’s headliner is the legendary Reverend Horton Heat, and there’s also an IntstaFilm PolaWalk for you photohounds!

I Come As 1 But Stand as 10,000| GDAC | 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM  
This new exhibit features works by renowned Columbia, South Carolina artist Tyrone Geter. In his works Geter explores the struggles and hardships women of color have to face globally. Geter’s pieces are inspired his mother and her life of dealing with the racism, intolerance, and poverty of 20th century in America. Geter’s works celebrate women and their stories by making them the focal point of his pieces, but avoids the objectification of his female subjects. You can also check out the On North Texas photography exhibit, and Under Tension while you’re there.

TB Winds 1-Year Anniversary Jam | Armadillo Ale Works | 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM
They like to toot their own horn for good reason, and you can join in with their celebratory jam, and maybe catch a brewery tour while you hang out. And do not forget about the Keep Denton Warm winter wear donation drive!

Brave Little Howl w The New Tribe| Harvest House | 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM  
Catch this FREE show at Harvest House to hear some rock-n-roll in one of our favorite outdoor venues in town!

SUNDAY, November 10th

Holiday Open House | Downtown Denton | 10:00 AM –5:00 PM  
We are lucky to have plenty of unique shops all around Denton for clothing, art, music and more. Downtown is the perfect place to find one-of-a-kind gifts, holiday decor and delicious specials at restaurants. You’ll also have the chance to enter special drawings throughout the weekend with more than 40 stores and restaurants participating in this weekend event! 

Fold Festival ‘Zine Fair | Armadillo Ale Works |1:00 PM - 8:00 PM  
Denton's first Invitational/curated makers faire is here, FREE and full of artists and printmaking vendors with live music!
