It’s officially the CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN, y’all!! In case you’re still doing some shopping, our Denton Gift Guide from last season for local gifts is still evergreen but jump to it. There is a ton of #Dentoning out there to be had, but here are our top #DEN10 event selections for your final days leading into Christmas.

THURSDAY, December 21st

Eat, Drink & Be Tacky DHLF Fundraiser | BarCrawl | 4:45 PM - 10:00 PM
Grab your ugliest gawdawful holiday sweater or your kookiest holiday onesie and join the Denton Holiday Lighting Festival for a bar-hop throughout Downtown Denton to support Denton favorite holiday event! There will be raffle tickets for purchase to win some awesome prizes, and at the end of the evening there will be a grand prize awarded to the person wearing THE ugliest sweater or holiday onesie. Participating businesses include: Komodo Loco, Paschall Bar, East Side Denton, TX, Oak St. Drafthouse, Harvest House, & Mulberry Street Cantina … Tickets are $30 and limited to the first 60 purchased!!!

The Drunk Talk Show | Dan’s Silver Leaf | 8:30 PM - 10:30 PM
Thursdays are always poppin’ with Glitterbomb at Andy’s, a bicycle ride at Eastside, or jazz at Steve’s Wine Bar, but sometimes you hanker for something a little different.  How about live and loaded interviews with local politicos or celebs, magic acts, live music, and maybe a few surprise visitors for local-AF-host Scott Porter? Sounds pretty different to us.

FRIDAY, December 22nd

Holiday Cheer Tap Takeover | Community Beer Co. | 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM
The CBC Beerhounds have been hoarding rare & specialty beer all year to trot out for their annual Taproom holiday throw down; Barrel Aged Beers, small batch beers, experimental brews, they'll all be on tap. So dust off that tacky sweater, grab your friends, and join in this evening of Craft Beer kookiness! FYI The Bearded Monk’s 12 Beers of Christmas countdown is also featuring Snickerdoodle just across the alleyway!

Chris Watson Band | Dan’s Silver Leaf | 10:00 PM - 1:00 AM
This powerhouse Southern Soul group out of Fort Worth, TX combines the best elements of Blues, MoTown, Funk and Southern Rock as this collection of passionate musicians puts on an unforgettable show. Go hear for yourself.

SATURDAY, December 23rd

Brunchin’ with Brunch Money | Mellow Mushroom | 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
We love us some Jazz Brunch at The Chestnut Tree, but this chance to keep the Armadillo Ale pint glass after chowing on a hot pizza pie sounds too good to pass up!

UNT TubaChristmas  | UNT Willis Library | 11:59 AM - 2:00 PM
Enjoy some merry holiday music from these talented Tuba troubadours, directed by conductor “Saint” Nicholas E. Williams!

Emo Blunderbuss, Everlasted, TMRW & Electric Purple | Midway Craft House | 9:00 PM - 12:00 AM
If you haven’t checked out this burgeoning indy venue in the middle of a beer store, then maybe head over to sample their eclectic young talent as you grab a sixer.

‘Twas the Night B4 Christmas | Game Changers Sports & Arcade | 11:00 AM - 2:00 AM
Some fun and games accompanied by a few pints or holiday spirits sounds like a pretty solid choice for spending a Christmas Eve when you’re not stuck in enclosed spaces with the relatives. FYI kids eat free between 11am and 5pm, also open on Christmas!

Christmas Story On Stage | Denton Unitarian Universalist Fellowship | 10:30AM - 11:30PM
In case you’re hankering for some nostalgic stageplay, the DUUF with special musical guest Paul Slavens are offering this interactive journey through a staged version of  Bethlehem’s famous events, promising to bring some joy and wonder to our holiday season!

FREE Christmas Dinner | Aqua Dulche | 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
The fine folks at Aqua Dulche and the Chestnut Tree are teaming-up again this year to provide a FREE Christmas lunch on December 25th from 11 - 1pm. If you are interested in volunteering or donating something to help out, please contact them to help give a little back.

As always, holla in the comments if you have a fave to add, but be sure to tag your pretty Instagram pics with #WDDI so maybe you make the cut on Monday’s glorious “What We Did” review.
