World AIDS Day | GDAC | 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Honor World AIDS Day and help raise awareness for people living with HIV/AIDS with this event from OUTreach Denton and Denton Feminist & Queer Collective. The evening includes refreshments, live music, personal testimonies about living with HIV/AIDS, free testing, safer sex resources, and an exhibition of the AIDS Memorial Quilt.
FRIDAY, December 1st
Denton Holiday Lighting Festival | Denton Courthouse On The Square | 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Get excited for one of our town’s biggest events on the Downtown Denton Square, with plenty of live local music, food, family fun and joyful holiday spirit for this one-of-a-kind community event! Do please bring a toy for their toy drive benefitting Elves Shelves, and get a jump on Wassail Weekend.

Save Denton Music History | Emily Fowler Library | 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Dentonites UNITE for this local music initiative of the UNT Music Library, partnering with the Denton Public Library to host a LIMIT scanning day to preserve and provide access to Denton’s extensive but disappearing musical heritage. Music fans and Denton collectors can bring in photos, handbills, programs, and other flat two-dimensional music memorabilia 8.5” x 11” in size or smaller to be digitized for FREE. This event is free and open to the public, and later film nerds should totally check out the UNT Short Film Club 2017 Revue at the Lyceum Theater.
Wassail Weekend | Downtown Denton | 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Friday just ain’t big enough to satisfy this Denton holiday tradition, and the trash-talk between Downtown Denton Main Street merchants has reached a fever-pitch. Saturday features more Wassail stops, strolling musicians, and there will be some other activities that day with the Historic Homes Tour from 1-5pm and some morning fun for the family at the Holiday Express Train, a train-ride trip to the Denton County branch of Santa’s workshop held by Denton County Friends of the Family and DCTA A-Train from 9am-1pm.
Chill’n-N-Denton Music Festival | Parker’s Plantation | 10:00 AM - 11:00 PM
Another heckuva fun way to spend the day is this new all-day event brought to you by the same crew who puts on the Parker Haunted House attraction on Halloween! They’re touting live music with food trucks and some special video appearance by Snoop Dog, so observe and report ‘cuz IDK WTH??

Kurt Elling with The Swingles | Murchison Performing Arts Center | 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Go hear Grammy-winning jazz vocalist Kurt Elling join forces with a cappella group, The Swingles, in this special evening from the UNT College of Music. Revered as one of the world’s foremost jazz vocalists, Elling will be accompanied by The Swingles' seven young singers who have been featured on numerous soundtracks including Glee, Grey’s Anatomy and Wedding Crashers!!
