Richard Gilbert | Harvest House | 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM
In a town brimming with musical talent, singer/songwriter Richard Gilbert is one of those anonymously infamous Denton locals you want to listen to on repeat! FRIDAY, October 13th
Fabulation | UNT RTFFP Bldg | 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM
UNT Dance & Theater presents Fabulation, a social satire about an ambitious yet haughty African-American woman, Undine Barnes Calles, whose husband suddenly disappears after embezzling all of her money. Pregnant and on the brink of social and financial ruin, Undine retreats to her childhood home in Brooklyn’s Walt Whitman projects, only to discover that she must cope with a crude new reality. Undine faces the challenge of transforming her setbacks into small victories in a battle to reaffirm her right to be. Showtimes for this comeuppance tale with a comic twist on October 12, 13 and 14 at 7:30 pm, but also at 2 pm October 14 &15.
Pints & Popcorn Movie Night | Audacity Brew House | 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM
’Tis the season for spooky fun, so the Audacity brewmeisters are showing the 1968 classic ‘Night of the Living Dead’ and pairing their craft beers with tasty selections from Du Pop In Popcorn & Candy Co. We love this idea!
Goatman’s Bridge Ghost Tour | Old Alton Bridge | 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Take a guided look at one of Denton’s oldest haunts with the BECKS Ghost Hunters group. Visit a haunted cemetery. And do the spirits of 6 unclaimed bodies still roam here waiting to be claimed? Walk through the haunted woods and see the “glowing lights” that dance in and out of the trees. This bridge has a dark past full of murder, violence, and death! Come along and walk through the dark woods and experience the paranormal first hand… or read about last year’s favorite haunts in Denton.
SATURDAY, October 14th
SCRAP 1950s Prom Masquerade Ball | Denton Women’s Club | 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Get your tickets now and then get to work on your costume (using reused and re-purposed materials, of course) for the costume contest for this year's theme: Retro Prom! Harvest Day | Denton County Historic Park | 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Denton County Community market celebrates its bi-annual harvest of fall crops with a day of family fun for everyone! You can make a full day of it by touring the Bayless-Selby House before next week’s Park After Dark spooktacular, then walk over to survey the new exhibits in the Denton Arts Center.
Denton Rock Lottery 16 | Dan’s SilverLeaf | 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
25 artists’ names go into the hat, then 5 bands come out. In its 20th year, Rock Lotto has become one of the most exciting music events around, mostly because the one-and-done day of improvised creativity creates a lot of gems and some fun trash. Don’t miss this one, cuz tickets go fast.
Bonnie & Clyde Days | Pilot Point | 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
In it’s 8th year for Bonnie & Clyde Days, Pilot Point becomes a piece of living history with old-timey, small town 1930's era family fun! Festivalgoers step back in time as they watch the Model A and Classic Car Show, performances from the UNT Jazz Quartet, the Denton Community Theater cast of "Bonnie and Clyde,” and the Peanut Thrashing Demonstrations. Visitors can cheer on participants during the Cabinet Makers Soap Box Challenge and the Old Fashioned Pie Eating Contest, or sample the street food vendors, live music, and new museum throughout the all-day event.
SUNDAY, October 15th
Second Anniversary Party, Day 2 | Bearded Monk | 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
