As the summer moves on, the businesses of Denton have continued to come up with great events to serve our community and keep us cool in the process. This weekend, we’re encouraging you to join in with a few of our favorites that are joining forces to help raise funds for local non-profit supporter, Serve Denton, all while sampling some great smoked meats, craft beers, and local musicians. Read on to find out more about this weekend's event.
On Saturday, July 16th at 2pm, folks will gather at local growler stop, The Bearded Monk, for a barbeque competition. For as little as $10, you can get a voting card and plate to chow down and judging.
Let’s admit it, we all love to think we’re experts, have the best taste, and do a little judging. This weekend you’ll have your chance to do just that. BBQ, Beats & Brews will have victors who reign based on your vote. The event will offer a scrumptious selection of local pitmasters, including Juicy Pig and Bet the House. Each tasting participant will pay for a plate and a voter card, try as many meats as they need to, and will cast their vote for the ultimate BBQ Master of Denton. Meat isn’t your thing? That’s cool, there will be veggie-dogs, burgers, and probably like water or something.
Oh – and beer. There will definitely be beer. Because let’s face it, you want something with more flavor than that PBR when you’re chowing down on a whole hog. Vegetarian or carnivore, the beer will bring you together. The Bearded Monk will be there to support you in your time of need, with a massive selection of local and craft brews.
In true Denton form there will be music inside and out all day, with DJs spinning your favorite records all afternoon long. Expect to hear the likes of The Wallaces, Moniker Music, the BoomBachs and more as you bask in your BBQ glow of giving. Additionally, there will be live T-shirt printing on sight, too, because you don't actually live in Denton until you have at least a dozen T-shirts from different Denton events. Dance the night away and do it all in the name of great fun and good vibes as you help to raise money for Serve Denton.
