Oaktopia just gave us our first glimpse at the lineup for this year's festival and boy are we happy. Headliners for this year's three day festival include the likes of Dr. Dog, Wavves, Nikki Lane, White Denim, Best Coast, Andrew WK, Mates of State, and Grandpa vs Prowler (Danny Masterson and Michael Pena) and that's just from the first announcement. If those aren't some names that made your pupils dilate, then we don't know what's wrong with you.
2016 marks year four for the Oaktopia peeps and we couldn't be happier to see how they've grown. The festival returns to downtown Denton, TX from September 22nd - 24th. Aside from what we've already listed above, this year will reportedly also feature an additional ten national bands, plenty of local musicians, and the eerie sounding "Oaktopia Super Blood Moon Parties." Apparently only half of what is expected has been announced so far so this is bound to be interesting.
An additional announcement will be made this Friday, June 10th and tickets will go on sale at noon CST that same day. As for us, we can't decide if we're more excited for Wavves, Andrew WK, or Grandpa vs Prowler (we kinda love Michael Peña).
