Seen and Heard is our weekly events listing of some of the best family friendly events going on in Denton. Believe us when we say that there are no shortage of events now that Spring has finally sprung! Twilight Tunes starts this month, too, so there's even more to come. Don't let a few rain showers get in the way of doing some of the awesome events that Denton has to offer over the next few days.

Pancake Supper | Immaculate Conception Church | $4 - $9 | 4:30-8pm
It’s time for the annual Kiwanis Pancake Supper and Silent Auction, benefiting Denton area children with school supplies, health care needs, and back to school clothing. Who doesn’t love breakfast for dinner? Buy tickets online for the best deal and go hungry.
Masterchef Cooking Demonstration | Civic Center | Free | 4pm
Does your little dude or dudette love Masterchef Jr (or maybe you do?), or do you just want them to learn some sweet new cooking skills so you don't have to man the chef every single weeknight? Some of the local contestants from season 3 of the Fox cooking contest show will be at the Civic Center this afternoon with cooking demonstrations and a little meet and greet. This is just a portion of the Just Between Friends of Denton event that is holding their Spring Sale this weekend at the Civic Center.
Saturday, April 11th
Denton Community Market | Mulberry and Carroll Blvd. | Free | 9am-1pm
The Market has such a wonderful variety this season. This Saturday’s kids’ activity is the lovely Wildflower Art Studio, so plan to stick around for a while to paint and play.
Planetarium Shows | Sky Theater | $3-$5 | 12pm and 2pm
The Planetarium at UNT is a pretty well-kept secret. The noon show is always just $3, and this month’s selection is called Dinosaur Passage to Pangea! The 2pm show is Wonders of the Universe. Parking is free on weekends, and you’re only a few blocks away from some grub and entertainment on Fry St. Sounds like a great afternoon to us!
Sunday, April 12th
Ride ATAXIA | Apogee Stadium | $25 and up | 8am
Did you know that the City of Denton has hired a new bike coordinator? What better way to recognize Denton’s commitment to cycling for health, transportation, and fun than to join this fundraiser for Friedreich’s Ataxia research? Choose a family-friendly neighborhood jaunt, or you can choose to ride up to 50 miles! Beautiful views of Lake Ray Roberts ought to get you motivated for this great cause.
This community-wide event is open to everyone, and includes pet adoption, face painting, the Easter Bunny, and at 8pm the movie “Hop” will be shown outdoors. Plenty of restaurants will happily have you in for dinner. The eggs drop at 5:30 for children ages 8 and under. Bonus: donations will be accepted for the rebuilding project for Eureka playground!
