SEEN AND HEARD: MARCH 6TH 2015

will milne March 6, 2015

The past while and a half have been kind of a bust, y'all. The weather has been keeping us down, but no more! We're fighting back. With all of these snow days, your wee ones might have you going a little crazy. No worries. You can break your group's cabin fever with these five family-friendly activities below.

Friday through Sunday, March 6-8th

Downtown Open House | The Square | 9am-11am

Friday evening, Saturday from 10am-5:30pm, and Sunday from noon-5pm, come shop all your favorite places downtown and beyond for Denton Main Street Association’s Spring Forward Open House. Participating merchants are running specials, even for your little ones!

Friday and Saturday, March 6-7th

Shamrock Superhero 5k | Kappa Delta House | $ varies | 9:30am

Up and away for this fun run to raise money for Children’s Advocacy Center of Denton and Prevent Child Abuse America. Kappa Delta’s Gamma Beta chapter is running to prevent child abuse, and you can bring your whole family for a BBQ meal Friday night, and a fun run in the morning.

Saturday, March 7th

Touch a Truck | CH Collins Stadium Parking Lot | $2 donation | 10am-2pm

It’s the event we’ve all be dreaming of! Every vehicle you’ve ever wanted to climb on, get in, or explore will be over in North Denton on Saturday! Bonus: from 9am-10am the event is open for special needs children and their families. Oh, and there will be food trucks, too!

Cornerstone Preschool Annual Pancake Supper | First Presbyterian Church | $5 | 6pm

Seriously, this is one of the funnest (that’s a word) events of the year! You won’t believe all the great auction items and build-your-own-pancake masterpiece action. This year’s theme is Western: parents, you get to dress up too! Giddy-up and gather the herd on over there.

Denton Roller Disco | Lone Star Indoor Sports | $8-20 | 6pm
What do you get when you mix roller skates, live music and an afro contest? A party you’ll never forget! This groovy fundraiser benefits the Denton Community Market. Presale tickets available
here.

Anyah Martinez is the mother of three busy boys and the founder of Explorium Denton, a children's museum taking shape in Denton.
