Saturday, February 28th
Preschool Play and Read | North Branch, Denton Public Library | Free | 10am-noon
Help your 3-5 year old with early literacy skills while having fun as a family! This come-and-go program offers children age-appropriate games, activities, and crafts that assist in developing pre-reading skills. (Leave your own books and games at home).
Roller Derby | House of Quad | Free | 9am-11am
Ever wanted to try roller derby? How about introducing your children while you’re at it? Stop by this meet-and-greet for a chance to watch a practice while chatting with a roller derby girl. They’ll even have skates for you and your family to try out! Maybe you’ll even pick up the lingo (“panty” doesn’t mean what you think it means).
Solar System Tours | UNT Sky Theater | $3 | 12pm
Take in a show in the planetarium this Saturday. A special children’s show starts at noon and everyone pays kids’ price! Or stop by at 2pm for Sky Stories ($5 for adults), and Find out how different cultures explain the star patterns they saw in the night sky. No parking permit is required on weekends! Score!
UNT Basketball | UNT Superpit | $7-12 | 7pm
It’s basketball season, and UNT is a great place to catch some hoops. Tickets start at $7, or opt for the family pack that includes tickets, food, and drink for four people! Caw!
