NYE with STARPARTY | Dan’s Silverleaf | $10
Dan’s Silverleaf holds fairly legendary NYE parties, and this year shouldn't be any different. STARPARTY will be taking the stage this year to kick off 2016.
NYE 2016: Slobberbone, American Werewolf Academy, Daniel Markham | Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studios | $7/9
Well, son of a gun. Slobberbone is playing a New Year's Eve show in Denton. And for $7. Frontman Brent Best’s first ever solo album, Your Dog Champ, was on my personal top 5 favorite albums of the year. You should go to this.
New Year's Eve Farewell Party w/ Fab Deuce & DJ Spinn Mo | Hailey’s Club | $5/10
Where were you when Hailey’s closed its doors for good? ...Probably at Hailey’s! Or at least having fun somewhere else, safely.. Their 90’s night even last night was at capacity for hours with a line of no less than 150 people around the block to get in, so we have no doubt in our minds that their NYE party will be (what do the kids call it..) turnt. Turnt.
New Year's Eve At Paschall Bar | Paschall Bar | Free
Why not sip a fancy cocktail at the bar with one of the best views on the square? If they aren’t at capacity, we see no reason not to be here. What better place to take your NYE selfies than the beautiful decor of Paschall.
THE TRON 2015 NEW YEARS EVE BASH | Bolivar Trap House | Free
We were unaware there was a "trap house" on Bolivar, but the address is 2730, so go party responsibly. The Facebook invite specifies No Drugs, so if that's what you kids are doing at house shows, you can’t do that there. Here’s to a responsible New Year, y’all.
New Year's Eve at 940's | 940’s Kitchen | 5 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Maybe dining is more your New Year's Eve style? If you haven’t been to Denton’s newest date-y dine-in place yet, it is highly recommended. From 5 - 10 p.m. they will be offering a four course meal, in addition to regular menu items. From 10 p.m. - 2 a.m. they will be serving regular menu items as well as having a DJ on site, for your dancing purposes. Come have a cocktail at 940’s!
New Years Eve Masquerade | Harvest House | Free
Looking for a low-key evening? Put on your masquerade mask and join your local friends at Harvest House for a fun evening of celebration and spirits.
Contending events that are not NYE related, but kind of:
Spiderweb Salon's New Year Formal 2016 | Dan’s Silverleaf | Saturday, January 2 | $5
The lovely people at Spideweb Salon are hosting their 3d annual New Year Formal at Dan’s Silverleaf this coming Saturday. The admission gets you in, and a free zine. There will be live performances, art for sale, and some tasty beverages being served behind the bar all night long.
LOAFERS, Teenage Sexx, Goldenjoy, Ethics | Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studios | Saturday, January 2 | $6/8
Goldenjoy! Goldenjoy! Goldenjoy! We heard if you say their name out loud three times they appear. Didn’t work, so looks like we’ll have to go to Gloves on Saturday to check them out in person.
Ally Hany Denton Album Release Show | Andy’s Bar | Saturday January 2 | $7Ally Hany returns to Denton to celebrate her new album, Journey Ahead. Hany is a profession, endorsed trumpet player, arranger, composer, and educator based out of New York City.
