This week, we're gonna take a look back at 2014. Today, we have a special What We Did that covers the past 365 days of life in Denton. Looking back, one thing we can't ignore is the fact that we have a bunch of talented photographers in Denton capturing awesome moments on their phones, DSLRs, and film cameras. Also, we eat too much.

The opening of Hypnotic Donuts and Cultivar Coffee has made us collectively gain hundreds of pounds of awesomeness.

We got pretty pumped about Cafe Brazil opening in Denton last year. Then, it opened and we were all kinda like, "Meh."
Austin St. Truck Stop opened this year and became one of our favorite places to grab a bite.
Shift Coffee reopened in a new spot after six months and continued to serve awesome coffee.

Better Block came to Denton this year and showed that people will flock to businesses in North Denton. Although, we haven't seen anything come from this yet, we're hoping to see something in 2015.
What was once East Side Social Club is now Eastside.
And then there was that awful storm that eventually filled Denton with the sound of people nailing new shingles into roofs for about six months.
Hoochie's also closed and reopened in a new spot. We love their tacos.

Arguably Denton's most iconic food truck, The Waffle Wagon, opened their doors in 2014.
We banned fracking, allowed the sale of liquor in town, and much more in 2014. It was a very political year for all of us.
We got excited about the opening of a new spot, Barley & Board, on the square.
Oaktopia got bigger and better.

Another banner year of Day of the Dead in Denton.
Not every town would be so chill about a city councilman walking around downtown, holding a gun and wearing face make up.
The courthouse remained pretty.
Armadillo Ale Works announced they would move their facilities to Denton. Oh, and they launched a few great beers.
Help-Portrait: Denton got bigger and better.
West Oak Coffee Bar opened up shop and lived up (maybe surpassed) the hype. Yes, they have chocolate milk on tap.
We all took lots of pictures of donuts. We especially likes this one from @JadeWintersee.
Rock Lottery was awesome again. The moment captured in the great photo above spurred an awesome internet fight.
We showed some movies on the square and the city played some movies at local parks.
We got to explore the insane old school gun collection in the basement of the courthouse that is currently on loan from UNT.
Oh, and we all ate lots of tacos, but not all were as beautifully photographed as these three from El Taco Rico shot by Shaina Sheaff.
