On Friday, October 17th, we're hosting another movie night on the courthouse lawn. This season's selection is Moonrise Kingdom from director Wes Anderson. The film was described by the New York Times as having a, "deliberate, self-conscious once-upon-a-time quality." We Denton Do It Editor, Will Milne, described the movie as being "Okay... I guess. That's the one with the kids and stuff, right?" When you're chilling on the courthouse lawn watching a free movie, though, you're going to have a good time. It has Bruce Willis and Ed Norton, after all. The evening is being made possible by Crosstimbers Community Church, Wine Squared and Chestnut Tree and with the help of the gracious folks at the Denton County Historical Courthouse for letting us use their front yard.
The movie starts at 8pm on Friday, October 17th, and we might be screening a few local shorts, as well. Make sure to hit-up Wine Squared which will be running bottle service and providing wine glasses and then head to Chestnut Tree where you can order off their "picnic basket" menu and they'll even set you up with loaner plates, basket and everything you'll need to enjoy the movie minus the blanket for $30.
So make your plans, mark your calendars and we recommend biking or walking since (fingers crossed) the weather will be perfect. Now we're wondering how that couple that had their first date at our last movie night is doing...
