Thursdays are also always hoppin’ downtown with a bicycle social ride at Eastside, live jazz at Steve’s Wine Bar, gnoshes at Wine2, wacky music at J&J’s Undercrust ODB, a Zine & Art Party at Voertman’s Gallery, and out at Horny Toad Café they’re hosting a Funny Car Chaos pre-party!

FRIDAY, September 14

The Graduate | Campus Theater | 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM (Sept 14-23)
The Denton Community Theatre stages this infamously racy romp, filled with rapid fire dialogue, dysfunction and bitter but hilarious comedy, as the new college graduate gets schooled on life and love by a disillusioned Mrs. Robinson. This production is for mature audiences due to subject matter and partial nudity, so that’s maybe a bonus.

Pearl Earl | Harvest House | 9:00 PM – 12:00 AM
The all-femme rock band Pearl Earl has gotten a ton of great buzz, and you can catch them burning up the Harvest House stage with Ecstatic Union and Delicate Boys.

Denton Blues Festival | Quakertown Park| SEPT 14-16
Filling the cooler air with the sounds of music, the Denton Black Chamber of Commerce celebrates 20 years with a weekend party that’s totally FREE amazing fun! From festival food to bounce houses and twangy Blues acts from across the South, its where your friends are hanging this weekend.

The traveling Democratic challenger has made a lot of news lately with his blue-hair-tofu-agenda, an appearance on The Colbert Show, and upcoming gig with Willie Nelson, but you can meet this firebrand as he pitches himself for US Senate.

Shonen Knife |Dan’s SilverLeaf| 8:00 PM – 11:59 PM
If Beto ain’t punk enough for you, then go hear for yourself why Shonen Knife was one of Curt Cobain’s favorite acts as these high-energy Japanese femme fatales rock the stage with their uniquely eclectic style. Mind Spiders and Hey Cowboy will sho nuff keep the dance floor warmed up!

The Brave Boys LIVE in Dallas with Kevin McDonald |Stomping Ground Comedy| 11:00 PM – 12:01 AM
Okay, we are totally breaking protocol to mention a Dallas event in our venerable #DEN10, but trust us that its for good reason. Our beloved Brave Boys Podcast are traveling to the dirty D to hang and riff with comedy legend Kevin McDonald, who you know from Kids In The Hall, That 70s Show, and Arrested Development at least. Laugh along with our emerging talents part of Denton’s burgeoning comedy scene in this showcase of nutcases.
