OMG our Texas weather dropped from 80 to 41 like it spotted a hidden State Trooper speed trap!! Wet and cold tho it may be, nothing is gonna dampen our search for fun stuff to do now that Halloween season is here! This week in #DENTONING adventures is another bounty of choices, so here is our top #DEN10 weekly events!


THURSDAY, October 18th

BOO at the U | Texas Womans University | 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM  
TWU hosts their rad Halloween carnival for families and kids of all ages, FREE to attend with a canned food donation to their TWU Food Pantry. Trunk-or-Treat candy as you enjoy carnival games, inflatables, hay rides, pup parade, ghost stories, and get a photo with their new mascot Oakley!!

FRIDAY, October 19th

Park After Dark | Denton Co Historic Park | 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM  
On a night in 1919, an argument took place outside the Bayless residence, an argument that ended in death… Does the ghost of Mr. Bayless still roam the halls? Find out for yourself with these tours of the historic home on Friday and Saturday nights with the Denton County Office of History & Culture

FWB Movie on the Square: HOCUS POCUS | Denton Courthouse lawn | 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM  
Friends With Benefits kicks off their KEEP DENTON WARM donation drive with this free showing of a Halloween favorite. Bring your own chair and Clean out your closets, wardrobes, garages, houses, cars, apartments, etc and give us all your winter wear you don't wear anymore! Coats, hats, gloves, jackets, ear muffs, scarves, new socks are all needed!

The Hunchback of Notre Dame | Campus Theater | 7:00 PM - 9:00 AM  
Based on the Victor Hugo novel and songs from the Disney animated feature, the musical begins as the bells of Notre Dame sound through the famed cathedral in fifteenth-century Paris. Quasimodo, the deformed bell-ringer who longs to be “Out There,” observes all of Paris reveling in the Feast of Fools. Performances on Friday & Saturday at 7:30pm, and a Sunday matinee at 2pm.

SATURDAY, October 20th

Denton Community Market | Denton County Historic Park | 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM  
It’s a Harvest Day Market do-over. The beloved Denton Community Market is the best way to ring in Saturdays, with all kinds of nifty crafty swag, produce, veggies, food, tours of the Bayless-Selby House, and live music! Browsing always pairs nicely with Saturday Jazz Brunch at The Chestnut Tree after some Yoga On The Square.

Industrial Street Pop Festival | Downtown Denton | 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM  
We love the story of the 1969 Denton County Woodstock, and “Geezerpalooza” keeps the spirit alive with their annual tribute concert. This FREE music festival serves up classic Rock-n-Roll from the 60s and 70s featuring the music of Linda Ronstadt, Stevie Wonder, The Pretenders and The Who. Sounds groovy.

Drinking Dead Zombie Barcrawl | Downtown Denton| 4:00 PM - 11:30 PM  
The annual Denton zombie bar crawl is back! Check-in at Mulberry St. Cantina where you will be given a raffle ticket or get your zombie make-over done before the crawl starts! Raffle tickets will be $2 or $5 for 3. If you want your zombie make up done it will be $5. 20% of all tickets purchased will be donated to Court Appointed Children's Advocates (CASA) for Denton County. RSVP with Eventbrite link. FYI there’s another Denton pub crawl from 2-6p so make good choices.

Gangsters & Gunslingers Ghost Tour | Pilot Point | 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Travel back in time with Gateway Ghost Tours to the town of Pilot Point with saloons and cowboys just off the trail and a known hideout for the Barrow Gang aka Bonnie and Clyde. Walk the square with psychics on duty Cindy Ross and Lisa Lang as they introduce you to the paranormal happenings in this charming little town. When the sun sets the nightlife begins with the spirits of the ghostly kind! This is a hands on and interactive ghost tour with the psychic tour guide who will help the group understand why certain spirits still linger.  Meet at the town gazebo at 7:00 p.m, Many of the shops on the square will be open for the group to venture inside to get a feel of the the ghostly energy! 

SUNDAY, October 21st

Comedy Open Mic |The Bearded Monk| 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM  
Rain or shine, Denton’s comedy scene is booming and you can catch some of these emerging talents as they hone their act and improvise on the fly. 

Elk River Sessions Vol. 2 | Dan’s SilverLeaf | 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM  
Another successful trip to the Ozarks to write and record an album in just three days. Come out and see and hear what these great Denton musicians did at the cabin this year!
