Restaurants in Denton are always a-ch-ch-changin'. A little while back our favorite downtown haunt for jazz nights and meatloaf changed owners, got a renovation and fancied up the menu. Now, they're taking on a whole new persona. Read on to find out more about Sweetwater's transformation to Agua Dulce.
Owner Ryann Reid picked up ownership of Denton about three years ago. After a little gussying up they re-opened with a similar concept but with nicer bathrooms and some trendy ingredients on the menu. We really dug their butternut squash mac and cheese and their burger. Now, they're turning a 180° and are flipping the whole concept.
Sweetwater is now called Agua Dulce, and will be serving Tex-Mex day and night. As we've longed for great Tex-Mex on the square, we're pretty pumped about this. Additionally, Denton Tex-Mex took a big hit earlier this year when El Guapo's closed so this change couldn't come at a better time.
We're hoping for some killer margs, a great enchilada and some super fresh guacamole that we can chow down on. We even think they've got the perfect spot on the patio for a mariachi band. Bring it on Agua Dulce - we're ready for what you've got.
