Denton's food scene has grown exponentially in the past decade. People drive from all over to come check out some of the newer (and older) restaurants that our town at the top of the triangle has to offer. We figured with all of the recent restaurant shuffling, we would highlight the fifteen dishes that we believe you should eat during your time in Denton. We've purposefully left out desserts (and drinks) because we will take a look at those in future posts, but believe us when we say we had plenty to choose from and nailing this down to fifteen was not so easy.

Democracy! Hooray! Now that the primaries are behind us (sort of) we can start talking about the upcoming City At-Large election. Well, maybe we’ll wait a little bit but not before inviting the entire city of Denton to Greg Johnson’s Campaign Launch Party at Barley & Board, March 3rd from 6-8PM. Between the joint city election and the runoff between Stucky and King, we’ll have some cool political content to keep everyone up to date on the local goings on.

You can’t miss Justin Weed’s long red mane, or the sound of his classical guitar drifting from Denton basements, stages, and benches across town. Weed is something of a Denton guitar prodigy at his young age. We wish we had snagged him when he was day-dreaming of delta blues at only nine years old, but we’re lucky we witnessed the paradox of his young face and old soul before he goes on to bigger and better things. He’s a cool kid with a vision for his life that may lead to the bright lights and big city in his future. Read on for our conversation with Weed about classical guitar, Booker T. Washington, and what it is like to grow up in Denton.

Growing up I loved getting barbecue with my family. There was this great place in town and I was totally in love with the whole experience; the way the air smelled of hickory and mesquite smoldering in the smokers, the cheap tablecloths, communal picnic tables and bottles full of perfectly sweet and spicy sauce that would get poured on everything. Last Sunday as we sat down to try out the newest BBQ joint, all of those memories came rushing back. Luckily for us, the Juicy Pig did not disappoint, and lived up to the great expectations of a table full of barbecue lovers. Read on to find out what we'll be going back for below.

Read on to find out what we think are restrooms worth of your peeing. Heck, maybe we'll even make a trophy and hand it out. Let's totally talk toilets...
