Last week was some needed vaycay but the Lil’ D action never stops, so here’s a look at our top #DEN10 events to check out as you’re out and about #DENTONING this next week.


THURSDAY, March 1st

First Thursday Gypsy Jazz | Barley and Board | 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Le Not-So-Hot Klub du Denton ushers in their 14th year on the Denton Square playing the Parisian swing of Django Reinhardt. Thursdays are also always poppin’ with Glitterbomb at Andy’s, a bicycle ride at Eastside, or jazz at Steve’s Wine Bar, too.

FRIDAY, March 2nd

Texas Independence Day | Oak Street Drafthouse | 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Celebrate Texas Independence Day with specials on Texas beers and liquors as the Lone Star Girls make the rounds. You could also hit up Free Beer Friday at the Discover Denton Welcome Center to meet the animals of the Frank Buck Zoo!

Amber Briggle Charity Roast | Denton County Brewing Company | 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Denton’s favorite agent provocateur is donating her birthday to Denton County Friends of the Family with this celebrity roast! Come hear the Mama Bear get skewered and celebrated, then donate to get your own shot at the hot mic.

First Friday Reclaimed Art Show | SCRAP | 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
It’s another Denton First Friday, and the SCRAP Re:Vision Gallery proudly presents the Reclaimed Art Show which is a collection of assemblages featuring reimagined images from photo slides found at SCRAP Denton. All artwork featured is made by ATC Commercial Photography students, and you can participate in make-and-take crafts! You should also check out A Creative Art Studio and the UNT Fine Arts Series closing reception for their Lost + Found Factory. 

Bearded Lady and Meat Paw Studios Beat Off | Harvest House | 9:00 PM - 12:00 AM  
Eyebrow-raising event titles aside, six of Denton's most talented DJs compete for the title of "Beat Champion" of Little D!!! There’s also a raffle for a $40 bar tab, pop up shops, a party paint booth, and a lot of audience participation in this throw-down moderated by comic Joey Johnson.

SATURDAY, March 3rd

Explorium 4th Annual Touch-a-Truck | Collins Athletic Complex | 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
We love us some Saturday Jazz Brunch at The Chestnut Tree after some Yoga On The Square, but this popular charity fundraiser for a Denton Children’s Museum and the Denton Public School Foundation is entertainment on wheels! You can make it a day and roll by the 2nd Annual Veterans Car Show on your way to lunch.

North Texas Horse Country Tour | Discover Denton Welcome Center | 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM.
Explore the beautiful North Texas Horse Country aboard a luxury motorcoach while a fun and knowledgeable guide narrates the facts and back story of the area. The North Texas Horse Country, one of the largest concentrations of horse farms in the United States, offers a variety of breeds and disciplines, making this area a mecca for equine enthusiasts from all over the world. Six Behind-the-Scene tours are offered each year, visiting two premier horse ranches where you can get an up close and personal look.

Join Denton Evening Rotary for their first Winter Warmer benefiting local non-profit UpTopDenton. For just $10, you can enjoy exotic Beer & Cider tappings from phenomenal breweries as you also support UpTop's mission to provide laptops to first generation college students… and a slice of pizza!

KUZU Presents: Light The Wick | Dan’s SilverLeaf | 8:00 PM - 2:00 AM  
Denton’s favorite community radio station hosts an eclectic evening of far-out sonic enchantment, five acts moderated by KUZU DJs!

SUNDAY, March 4th

Evita The Musical | Music Theatre of Denton | 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM  
Sunday is your last chance to experience the musical made famous by Madonna!

The Luzecky Trio | Paschall Bar | 9:30 PM – 12:30 AM
