THURSDAY, September 28th
AIDS Quilt: Threads of Remembrance | UNT Special Collections | 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the inaugural display of the AIDS Memorial Quilt in 1987, this exhibit explores the history of the AIDS Memorial Quilt and the Dallas-Fort Worth community's response to the AIDS epidemic. Dr. Beins, Associate Professor in the Department of Multicultural Women’s and Gender Studies at Texas Woman’s University, will be discussing the AIDS Memorial Quilt and the role of art as activism for LGBT and feminist activists. The lecture take place in the Willis Library Forum (Room 140) from 4–5pm, and then immediately followed by a public reception.

Horny Toad Cafe hosts the Official Funny Car Chaos pre-race party, with crazy Funny Cars on display during a driver meet and greet! You can get an up-close-and-personal look at the cars before they unleash their fury at North Star Dragway on Friday and Saturday.
